Bernice Frankel was born May 13th 1922 and passed on to a better life on April 25th, at the age of 86. She lived a long and full life, if you still dont know who i am talking about one of my favorate comiediannes of her time, Bea Arthur. Originally studying to become a medical lab technician, she quickly switched career choices after seeing medical work as TEDIOUS. She started taking drama and in 1958 had a first role on broadway "The threepenny opera" was her very first paid break. In the 1960s she then appeared in the original broadway performance for fiddler on the roof. Also appearing in "Mame" with Angela Landsbury. Her first regular TV work was for "ceasars hour" comedy sketch show. then in the 70s became the character we all know as "Maude", her title character was a once widowed, and twice divorced, quick witted individual. Finally in the 80s she hit it even bigger with the role of "Dorthy" in the golden girls. Which was and still is one of my favorite sitcoms of all time. The show went from 1985-1992.
As far as I am concerned she lived a full life of succeeding on doing what SHE wanted to do, I have always admired her and her work, and yes i still do watch golden girls to this day, that show wont ever get old as far as great sitcoms are concerned. I have to thank my Granny for the wonderful intro to the golden girls:)
